MedSweep reminds you when a medication is due and keeps a record of what you actually took. Unlike most reminder apps, it can count from when you last took a dose rather than from a fixed clock time, which is what you want for something taken every six hours as needed rather than every morning at eight.
A reminder did not arrive
Work through these in order. They account for nearly every missed reminder.
- Notifications must be allowed. Check Settings › Notifications › MedSweep and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Without it, reminders cannot fire at all.
- Focus modes silence apps that are not on their list. If you use Sleep, Work, Do Not Disturb or any other Focus, add MedSweep to that Focus's allowed-apps list. Each Focus has its own list, so this has to be done for each one you use.
- Low Power Mode can delay background activity. If reminders arrive late rather than not at all, this is a likely cause.
A reminder arrived, but silently
- Check the physical mute switch on the side of your iPhone. iOS notification sounds respect it, and no app can override that.
- Check Settings › Sounds & Haptics › Ringer and Alerts volume.
- MedSweep offers a choice of notification sound in its own Settings screen if the default is hard to distinguish from your other alerts.
Logging a dose
- Took it on the Home screen logs a dose immediately. A short panel then appears if you want to add a note or correct the time, and you can dismiss it to keep the one-tap version.
- Long-press a reminder on the lock screen to reveal Took it, Snooze and Skip without opening the app.
- Log a Dose (the + button in History) records a dose that already happened, including one from earlier in the day.
- Tap any entry in History to correct its time or status, or to delete it.
As-needed versus scheduled
An as-needed medication is never late. Its interval is the earliest you may take another dose, not a deadline, so MedSweep tells you when it becomes available and then leaves it alone. A scheduled medication is one you are meant to take at a particular time, so a late dose shows as overdue. You choose which a medication is when you add it, and you can change it later by editing the medication.
Your data
Your medications and dose history stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account. You can export your history from the History screen whenever you want a copy. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
